Vicious birds, bitterns. I’ve seen one eat a Chew once. Pretty though!
Chew?
I’ve seen birds be quite vicious as well, I was in my garden today and a sparrowhawk came calling. Luckily it missed all the birds and I deterred it from staying. However it has taken greenfinches, goldfinches and a collard dove before. But they are beautiful!
Sorry, I meant a Jackdaw…
241kg is a lot - that’s over 35kg more than my Tiger 900 GT Pro and about 20kg more than a BMW Rninet!
Bloody hell, that’s one hell of a size to get down it’s throat. I’ve seen a heron take a water vole, which is a pretty large rodent but nothing bigger.
I know, I was shocked when they announced it. These cruisers seem to be heavy, I had a look at the Bonneville America and it came in around the same weight. Whereas the Bonneville is considerably lighter, similar to the interceptor that the super meteor is derived from.
Not as vicious as a gull when you’re eating a pasty/icecream in St.Ives though.
Never eaten one myself, but I expect they are quite chewy.
Just to be clear the 241kg is wet, I think that brings the weight difference to your tiger to around 18Kg? Still considerable though.
My GS Ditchpump is only a few kgs heavier😱
My Tiger weighs in at 261 kg…
Yeah but who ever sees a GS without globe trotting panniers and topboxes plus wrap around scaffolding to protect the asset? If you drop this one you just leave it at the side of the road and buy another…
Does yours have a metal rear mudguard as well?
nope, all plastic…
Panniers and top box are in the loft and stay there unless they’re actually going to be used. There’s no scaffolding either as it’s heavy enough as it is. I guess doing that at least your trip home on public transport would be quicker
I used to enjoy watching the unsuspecting emmetts I’m sitting on the harbour wall.
Yeah, I’ve tried educating a few that insist on feeding their chips to the gulls (despite the numerous council signs to the contrary), rarely well received, so likewise sit back and enjoy the sport.
Away from the tourist hotspots the gulls are far less aggressive, funny that.
We were up in Scotland and watched a Black Back Gull dive into the River Spey.
He came up with an eel about 18” long and about 2 “ in girth. He smacked it about a bit on some rocks, that didn’t kill the eel so he just swallowed it whole…!. And then flew off …
Those eels take some killing …!
Bet the gull sticks to tourist chips in the future …!
Considering that on a Tiger the gravity center is upper, the weight sensation once riding shouldn’t make too much difference.
