We’ve all done it
Dropped my Tiger 800 whilst getting it off the centre stand
That’s a bummer but as has been said, we have all done it.
I’ve been around the museum a couple of times but never done the factory tour. Might be able to make that day. Possibly not in time for the tour but there’s always the beer.
Today though, I have mostly been testing positive for Covid. Bah!
Bad luck James, but we have all done that.
Be good to meet you, lurgy withstanding
Watching Mrs. Iron rake out and point the chimney.
Took her all day to do one side, so at teatime I went down the chippy and bought us dinner. God knows what I’m gonna do for dinner tomorrow…
I got off light could have been worse.
Starting to pick up after my covid bout, had a walk along Gardom’s Edge this afto, managed to find the cup & ring stone in all the bracken. It was huge (the bracken, not the stone). Keep saying I’ll do a wild camp up there, something a bit other worldly about the place.
Quite a bit of damage from a simple drop though James. Bad luck!
Little scratches on everything, nothing actually broken just cant live with the bike not looking right.
For those of you interested in Neolithic rock art…
…puzzling over the fact that my car insurance renewal invitation is £80 lower than the best offer from a conparison site. I don’t think that’s ever happened to me before.
Gift horse. Mouth.
I’ve just insured my Speed Triple. Renewal from £79 to £101, quick search for quotes, got it for £68.
A post was split to a new topic: Five Dead in Derbyshire
Insurance generally, but motor insurance in particular, seems to be what our septic cousins would endearingly term “a total crap shoot”! Meaning it is, by and large, a lottery that depends on an unknown set of variables that generate an unpredictable set of widely varying results!
These days I phone 3 or 4 insurers - which is about as much as I can stand to repeat the same old answers to the same old questions - review the quoted prices and go for the one somewhere in the middle of the range. They all seem to be much of a muchness in what they provide for what they get so I ignore the “comparison” sites/companies and, since I HAVE to have something, the random choice method seems as good as any.
One day there’ll be an insurance company or broker set up by motorcyclists for motorcyclists - and before anyone mentions McKenzie - Hodgson I think you’ll find that’s just a nom de guerre for the conglomerate that Carole Nash has become.
But don’t quote me on that! (Geddit? ;-))
While slumming it in Durham, see above, it turns out there was a Northumberland vintage motorcycle club Clover Leaf do based about a mile from our digs. Some great machines new and old.
Does anyone know what this is? Looks like a side valve maybe?
Pure guess but looking at the olive drab paintwork I wonder if that side valver is a TRW. I think I still have a primary chaincase for one. No idea why…
