Don’t ask me now… ask me at Christmas!
That fucks with what little OCD I have! Bet it tasted good though
It was superb.
We walked into this pizzeria and they didn’t have the MotoGP on theTV.
So I asked if they had the channel showing it and two minutes later it was on. I may have caused a few divorces, as all the blokes sat at the various tables stopped talking to their families and watched the race…!
Oh and the Italian Suzy Perry was hot…!
Are they flying out of PZ now or it is still Lands End airfield?
Up and over The Simplon Pass.
Dry when we left Italy and through Switzerland and wet when we arrived in France.
Lots of traffic over the top but not surprising as the Mont Blanc tunnel is shut.
Yes, from Penzance again now. Memory"s a bit hazy now as to the exact location of the old heliport, but after a few years without one they built a brand new one in spitting distance of the old one.
And Lands End airport has even got a proper tarmac runway now!!! Wasn’t it just grass a few years back?
They built Sainsbury’s where the old PZ heliport was. I think the new one had just been approved when I moved back to England.
I took flying lessons at Lands End when it just three grass runways, before they poured some money in for the Scillys shuttle flights.
Yes, thought it was at the “new” retail park but wasn’t sure. So new heliport has moved about 500mtrs.
And just for everyone’s amusement, I regularly ride the long(ish) fast straight along the side of Lands End airport, always hum the theme tune to Top Gun in my helmet while passing.
(Should really be helmet-less on a Kwak)
Nothing to compare with BM’s odyssey, but…
So return from the Scillies, the helicopter had a “technical issue” (well it was Friday 13th), good news is I wasn’t on it at the time.
The company that runs it (Starspeed) arranged return via a jet boat, a bumpy 1-1/2hr ride instead of a 20min flight. But good fun and even got to briefly see a few dolphins.
Na na naaa, na na nana… (On fourth Guinness, can tou tell? )
And I found out that
The French call Lake Geneva “ Lac Leman “ , not Lake Geneva…!
Google maps and many other navigation apps have it noted as Lake Geneva, much to the French consternation…!
So the opening lines of this classic must wind the French up every time it’s played…!
Half of the lake is french, so depends were you are… on lake LEMAN
Today I’m dealing with a bike parts seller…
The seller described a SAMCO silicon hoses kit compatible with Speed Triple 2005 + Sprint St 2005.
I sent an email as I ordered saying that the description should be wrong, as SAMCO got 2 different kits for the 2 bikes.
They answered they check, and say the kit they have is for my Sprint St 1050…
and…

Now I have to return the kit…
Google will find Lac Léman for you if you ask nicely!
It was first called “Lac de Geneva” in the 16th century, with the rise of the Swiss Confederation and the city of Genève… apparently some at the Geneva end on the Swiss bit still call it that as a colloquialism but not at the more relevant Montreux end where Lac Léman is the accepted generic Swiss name too.
(Thanks Google)
Did you know in the great song, Ian Gillan changed the words when singing it ‘coz he wasn’t there when it happened?
Did he sing “They all went down to Montreux”?
