Today I have mostly been

An admin day. I bloody hate big businesses and their auto phone systems. Also trying to get my wife’s driving licence back from the DVLA following her fall. The DVLA are just a bunch of Wayne Kerrs. They have had 26 weeks to make contact with my wife’s doctor and they haven’t made a call. They have now had an additional 6 weeks and still won’t discuss her case, hiding behind “ their process” …
I just hope none of you ever have to have a medical intervention with your licences because it’s just unfair how the DVLA deal with peoples lives. They Could not care less.

An act of seasonal symbolism today: I lit the living room stove for the first time since what passed for spring. This was both a bad thing - I can no longer pretend the summer isn’t over (boo) - and a good thing - I no longer have to put on an extra jumper in the evenings (hooray). Now sitting here nice and cosy for the first time in weeks. :slightly_smiling_face:

Today I have mostly been shopping. Now that I don’t work anymore I decided to take up my old hobby of cultivating bonsai again. I still have all my tools, so got a few starters and will go from there.

Quite a few (prohibitively expensive) fine specimens in the nursery.

My starters…

It’s it right that you can bonsai any tree?

It is - they’re not a species, but rather a way of growing.

It wasn’t this nursery was it?

Yup, through choice - I’ve worked for 46 years, quite enough, methinks. Had a bit of a windfall last year, enough to tidy me over to my state- and extra pension. I reckoned whilst still fit I’d now enjoy life without being annoyed by pesky employers…

Maybe not Italy but we did France, Germany, Austria , Switzerland and then back to France….
Great news that you’ve retired. Enjoy it, I am sure you will.

Easter next year for me :tada:

Cheers, I will!

France and Germany are not so bad fine-wise - Switzerland however… :hushed:. But I think after Brexit you’re probably safe.
