An admin day. I bloody hate big businesses and their auto phone systems. Also trying to get my wife’s driving licence back from the DVLA following her fall. The DVLA are just a bunch of Wayne Kerrs. They have had 26 weeks to make contact with my wife’s doctor and they haven’t made a call. They have now had an additional 6 weeks and still won’t discuss her case, hiding behind “ their process” …
I just hope none of you ever have to have a medical intervention with your licences because it’s just unfair how the DVLA deal with peoples lives. They Could not care less.
That goes for lots of civil “services”.
Hope you can get it sorted soon mate
An act of seasonal symbolism today: I lit the living room stove for the first time since what passed for spring. This was both a bad thing - I can no longer pretend the summer isn’t over (boo) - and a good thing - I no longer have to put on an extra jumper in the evenings (hooray). Now sitting here nice and cosy for the first time in weeks.
Today I have mostly been shopping. Now that I don’t work anymore I decided to take up my old hobby of cultivating bonsai again. I still have all my tools, so got a few starters and will go from there.
Quite a few (prohibitively expensive) fine specimens in the nursery.
My starters…
It’s it right that you can bonsai any tree?
It is - they’re not a species, but rather a way of growing.
Wow, must like tomatoes…
Receiving fanmail from France… apparently I exceeded the speed limit by 7,5 mph… €45 down the drain…
You hooligan. Hanging is too good for you people
You should stick to the legal limit like I always do
And I suppose you don’t tell fibs either!
Is that through choice Wim …? Have you joined the retired club now?
We’ve been back a week and I’m still watching the post every day…!
I’ve never got fanmail from Italy yet - you’ll be fine(d)…
Yup, through choice - I’ve worked for 46 years, quite enough, methinks. Had a bit of a windfall last year, enough to tidy me over to my state- and extra pension. I reckoned whilst still fit I’d now enjoy life without being annoyed by pesky employers…
Maybe not Italy but we did France, Germany, Austria , Switzerland and then back to France….
Great news that you’ve retired. Enjoy it, I am sure you will.
Easter next year for me
Cheers, I will!
France and Germany are not so bad fine-wise - Switzerland however… . But I think after Brexit you’re probably safe.
Great! Freedom at last!
