A lot of folk tell me that!
Just had a call off an old work mate who I chopped some trees down for. The wood has layed at his football club since last year so he asked if I wanted to collect my share. Felt great to just say I will see him one day next week! No worries about work getting in the way
You wait though, confusion will set in shortly - today I thought I’d have a trip to Sportsbikeshop as I have a tenner to spend there (thanks to Saul and my most excellent photographic skills). Opposite is also the Superbike Factory. I don’t remember having been to either but I needed a hooter for the trackmaster T120 build.
Had a look round Superbike and was told by Garth the Gorilla of GenZ that there is a sign saying not to touch. His hat had shot off when he saw me sitting on a Z900. He didn’t seem to know what I was talking about when I said I was thinking about trading in a 1976 T140 Bonneville. Pffft. I wasn’t, but I like to have a look round motorcycles. I like bikes but there wasn’t one I would even consider giving any money for, I like them but I wouldn’t want one.
So, off I went to Sportsbikeshop, found a hooter and I thought I’d try some of those little Co2 canisters for an emergency flat tyre. Thirty squids all in - then found out the shop is actually J&S Accessories! “Blimey, when did it change hands from Sportsbikeshop” asks I. “We’ve always been J&S” says the helpful till operator.
So, any old end up, I still have my £10 voucher.
At least you didn’t try buying CO2 from the butchers
Show us your hooters!!!
Enjoy your retirement @Dawsy .
Are you bored yet @Dawsy …?
If he is my wife will find him some jobs to do
Thanks @MrsVisor I will do my best!
Not yet @Oldskool Duty visit to parents yesterday and watching Super League rest of the day.
Just had a delivery of spares for my gravel bike so will be gainfully employed today prior to pub meal later on
Then run out on Speedy tomorrow
Ordered a new lid off evilbay. Over 99% feedback rating and a Scuberth authorised dealer so no worries about getting a knock off. My current helmet is quite noisy and there’s some turbulance on the RS so hopefully this will be better, plus being a flip up it should be easier to use with my glasses as opposed to the normal full face I have now.
Flip front is definitely great for spec wearers.
Reading about helmets last time I bought one, different makes do seem to suit different head shapes -
From what I’ve read, Schubert seem to suit round heads, I’m guessing that if the helmet shape doesn’t follow the head shape there will be gaps for wind and noise to get in…
Some helmets seem to be allowing for specs or sunglasses with their padding, these days. I don’t have a problem with my Arai (which doesn’t) but then I have slender frames. Thicker ones might be trickier.
I’ve got an S2 Scuberth at the mo, but dropped it and broke the front vent housing which I’m guessing doesn’t help and the C3 is supposed to be very quiet so fingers crossed it’ll do the trick
Ade, I can’t believe you ordered a delicate safety item off eBay!! Have you not had dropped, smashed or dented items before from the bell ends that deliver?? Do I need to say any more??
The seller has 99.9% feedback so I’ll let you know
Bet the dick head courier doesn’t!!
Ade- That’s where the fractured helmet starts ‘in transit’!!
I’ve had so many damaged, well not just that, some been HEAVILY battered damaged in the way they get chucked, just like suitcases on planes.!!
Yeah, I’d only ever buy a helmet from a “proper” shop…
Oh, I wonder how it gets to the shop?
Do you also see the original box it came in if you go to the shop? If not how would you know if it’s been bashed or not?
A shop generally would have warehouse pallets and are generally a safer bet. There’s always risks in all walks
