Another trip around the Brecon Beacons for me on the Fireblade this morning as I’m working tonight. The Street Triple is taking me camping for a few days when I am off work, so I thought it was only fair to give the blade another nice trip out .
Heathens…
And when she realises what I’ve booked to ride I’m in deep do-do.
Better to ask for forgiveness than permission some might say…
Don’t tell her Pike… I’ve found getting forgiveness is far easier than obtaining permission…
Beat me to it
Helmut took his Tuono and me my Fireblade to the Owl’s Nest in Llandovery yesterday; I had planned the route initially to do the Black Mountain Pass, but the clouds in that direction were very, very ominous so we decided to about turn and come back home via Abergavenny. Lovely ride out together and managed to dodge the rain
. We then went to see friends who own a riding school and they showed off the first of two new A2 bikes they have purchased…Triumph Scrambler 400s! Very nice…I couldn’t have a go on it as the seat is away for sculpting as it’s a tall bike. This will mean they’ll have one sculpted seat for us more vertically challenged individuals and one normal height seat for those more blessed with height.
Definitely! I am aiming to get out Thursday evening when the perpetual dreamers are glued to the telly again
Not 24 hrs from Tulsa…
Had a 140 mile trip out to Wales via Newtown and Cross Gates. What a road the A483 is between them, bend after bend on generally very good surfaces. Then down to earth with a bump back in Worcestershire on my way home as the council have been out plastering the A456 with gravel top dressing.
Yes the A483 is a great road….
Was going to add that to my “ride roads” database, but already in my plans.
Hoping to get a few days away in to Wales soon. No fixed/average speed cameras on that stretch I hope?
I feckin hope not The Welsh stealth lot tend to hide up on the scamera vans.
Have you got the B4291 that ends in Ffestiniog and starts off the A4212?
Do you mean B4391?
No, but I have now.
Yeah, that’s the one 1🤣
The A470 seems to be a fave for the vans (we saw it parked up when we were on the A470 on the TTF’s GMU), as does the A4212, according to my son’s GF whoes parents live nearby it’s due in part because of the logging lorries as they’re a bunch of loonies.
The A483 is fantastic…and I experienced the A456 the other day with the top dressing too not long after it had been laid…the bit just before Little Hereford…
Looks like you had a cracking ride.
Today I am working from 1700hrs so took the Fireblade out and went round a loop I like that’s about 100 miles this morning, taking a stop at the Baffle Haus. I got there two minutes after it opened and it was already busy with people taking advantage of that rare thing in the sky!!
Thanks, the tops of my arms were aching a bit when I stopped near Penybont They’ve put more not far from Newnham Bridge towards Clows Top and again on the entry to Callow Hill and in all three places I can’t remember thinking the surfaces were that crap and the A44 seems a lot worse? The A488 on the uphill climb between Monaughty and Knighton was really rough where all the shell grip has been worn away.
The A44 is horrendous at present, particularly the stretch between Leominster and Kington, although parts towards Bromyard are also really awful too.
