What You Been Doing With Your Triumph Today

Should be alright with an elastic band

Today I’ve been enjoying riding in the countryside  Last chance before weather gets melty.

@HelmutVisor (on his Tuono) and I did a lovely local loop this morning, had fun and stopped for a coffee / snack at Dom’s Bike Stop on the way home. It was PACKED; I think everyone had had the same idea as us and got out early before it got too hot. Very enjoyable ride and now off to a BBQ to combat the heat with nice cooling drinks .

Went to the wsb at Donnington park and had a great day!
A bit expensive tbh (at £50 to get in) and 3 burgers, fries and 1 drink was £44 ffs!
But, hey ho. What a great day all things considered.
Those bikes make a glorious racket btw!

£44! Jeez. Looks fairly quiet there too.

Agreed that looks really quiet😃

Only watched it on telly, nice to see Scot and Alex having fun! :grinning: :+1:

The other day I rolled my 25 year old Thunderbird out of the garage, all dressed up and eager for a ride. It started right up in neutral, I put it in first and Bang - it immediately died. A couple of more tries with the same disappointing result. I had a good hunch what the problem was, but turned my back on it and took the 35 year old car instead.

The day after I thoroughly cleaned and oiled the sidestand switch. The old Thunderbird is happy and this old owner is happy. I should really have caught it earlier. The switch pin is now moving silky smooth, but before the treatment I could hardly push it in with just my fingers.

Test riding

I might have accidentally put my name on a blue and orange one

Despite the forecast being 17°C cooler than yesterday, today’s suspension setup test ride was still sweltery. Ride is less harsh now with enough preload to avoid bottoming out on ‘normal’ country roads, sans potholes.

Measuring spring, looks like I’ve got another 10mm preload before the spring goes ‘solid’ at the bump stop, and that 10mm is about the extra I think I need with Mrs mouse on back. So looks like my 50% stiffer spring is not stiff enough. Also, it’s a bit bouncy even on max damping, let’s see if Mrs Mouse gets queasy on our future test ride.

Rearranged the order in the garage for spanner access to the next one. Long may it continue…

Easy going and relaxing sums it up. Better in the corners than I expected it to be although it does lack a little punch out of the faster corners. Thats not what its about on a bonneville though. It will make a brilliant machine for exploring the smaller roads round here and the likes of Donegal. The 5speed box is nice, suits the bike as you’re not shifting as much. Lots of comfort, very smooth, everything about is easy and light. Enjoyable ride!
