What You Been Doing With Your Triumph Today

The pink bit looks like it’s on a material tag, sewed into the seam next to it? If so a careful cut with a craft knife will soon get rid of it :face_with_peeking_eye::+1:

It is :+1:. Just a huge irritation of mine is the insistence of so many kit manufacturers of all sports - type kit that ALL women like pink .

Yes, it doesn’t make much sense. I don’t imagine that many women who ride motorbikes have Barbie tastes, so why carry on with this stereotype?

There seem to be as broad a range of us as in the general population around here; plenty who wear all pink kit, loads of make up and get their bikes painted pink or purple. That is obviously fine, but then there are plenty of us who don’t care much for pink or floral bits or hearts put on everything and kit for women without that sort of stuff on is getting more common but we have a long way to go (in all sports - I used to do plenty of competitive sport and pink / hearts / “girly” graphics were plastered on a lot of kit I would otherwise have purchased).

I can understand that some protective clothing has to be specifically tailored for women for obvious reasons, but boots? Surely feet are feet regardless of gender - why have specific women’s boots?

I know for the running kit I have had and walking boots, it’s a different last for women’s feet as we tend to have wider hips, meaning foot strike is different (not an issue with motorcycle boots!), a narrower heel, wider forefoot in comparison and higher foot arch so in general quite different to men. We also have different shaped calves. I have had quite a few pairs of men’s trainers and walking boots and done fine with them but definitely less slip in women’s. It’s not a deal breaker for me by any means as my other bike boots are men’s, but the high shin boots are a better fit in women’s - specific fit. I will not blindly pay more and consider only women’s fit but will find whichever boot fits best (I also tried men’s ones yesterday).

Other than that…the sort of bike bike boots I wouldn’t wear are the fashion ones which are clearly styled for women with high heels etc.

Well, I’ve learnt something new today!

This is why we need more women on motorcycles and motorcycle forums. A different perspective on a familiar theme.

I think traditionally most things in the sports / motorcycle arenas have been built around men’s needs, therefore men have not needed to give things as much thought. Certainly during my lifetime enormous strides forwards have been made, but the availability of equipment for women has not always been particularly good or availability OK but choice narrow and price prohibitive.

Let’s hope for a bit of progress then eh👍

Riding week end with friends to “les Gorges du Verdon”. Vertiginous.
We did 250 km, thousands of curves, loads of hair pins.
28-29 C°. My old ST1050 has been confortable and really efficient.

Yesterday I took the Street Triple and Helmut the Mutistrada and we went to the Old Station, Tintern for a bite to eat Old Station Tintern - Heritage Centre in Tintern, Tintern - Visit Monmouthshire

Lovely ride there and back, dodging the rain!

Good looking boots, should the hearts be black :joy:
Many women riders complain in NZ about the lack of choice, but also lack of shape for womens bikewear

To match my heart?. I’d skip the hearts altogether…

The lack of shape can be an issue too for loads of women; there’s a long way to go.

My wife hasn’t gone pillion since I had a bonneville. She was never going to do much and bought cheap gear from ebay in the end.
Problem is she’s tall, and my step daughter, who does ride is even taller.
It would appear that there is almost no bike gear for tall women.

A Swiss friend that rides her Yam XSR900 is over 1,80m high. She found out some stores like “POLO” have more choice for tall ladies. Maybe because it’s a german chain, and the taller average size of german people?

The tallness is sadly not an issue I have!! The opposite applies… :grimacing:.

The best things come in small packages … except rat’s shit and poison!

On that basis, a Dutch company would be better!
