At least you got out Steve. Tiger and Trident are laid up until March 1st now, due to insurance policy (I get a discount for that). But if we get a nice day Speedy is chomping at the bit to get out!
I’ve managed to partly straighten the twisted yokes (they’ll go in the bin once I sort new ones) and got it up on it’s feet.
I tried these harley custom yokes with the nice internal stops as I have the forks to suit which would lower the front by an inch or two but machine work is required to get them to fit properly. They’ll stay in the stash as Ironheads are getting well cheap and look better with a wider front.
New yokes are on order. Just sat the seat unit off of the T140E onto the shortened sub-frame. Looks pretty good so I’ll go for something along the same lines. The trackmaster tank is looking well. Thinking black with custom red flames and gold pinstripes.
I’ve been on a 70 miles or so round trip to the Baffle Haus on my Striple; it was pretty busy but mostly with cars.
I should be awarded the internationally recognised Zen Service Medal for the pillock who pulled out on me forcing me to stop going round a roundabout and who then also slammed his anchors on directly in front of me , stalling, and started gesturing at me. I just took a nice calm breath and rode around him, no return gestures or other interaction made .
Edited to add that I also hit a squirrel; my wildlife interactions continue .
Taking a pair of forks apart 'cause they are bothering me
Sacrificed a socket as it’s just a bit too tight fitting down the stanchions. I’ve been meaning to do one for ages so now I’ve got one
And have found that the stanchions are not a pair. Confirming that the forks had been in a bash. You gotta watch the sellers these days, they want the money more than worrying about what they are actually selling.
I’m gonna go through my folder of receipts and find out who it was…
Well, found where I got them. A breaker for a lot less than a pair of sliders would be. So, got the sliders and a pair of dampers with a scrap pair of stanchions and yokes thrown in.
Not all bad news then, I get my trousers pulled down every now and again.
Is that you for the winter then Wim ?
It’s always a sad day when this happens
I’m looking forward to Spring already
Certainly for Tiger and Trident Steve. If we get a nice day I can always drag the Speedy out. The former two we can’t ride until March 1st, due to insurance limitations.
We had a dry if not cool today (circa 8c), so I went out on the tiger. No photos as it was too cold to get off the bike and get my phone out.
Not been out for over a week, so great to be back on the bike.
Not sure how many more days we are going to get now before spring.
I was going to go the the Baffle Haus today, but set out fairly late because I was on nights last night. By the time I got halfway there, the weather had turned very, very grey and misty and drizzly, so I stopped at the GV Cafe in Pontrilas for a coffee and came back home. Very short and sweet, only 31 miles .
I made it to the Baffle Haus today…only four bikes there…mostly cars. Nice ride out, even if the roads are a bit of a state . Only about 70 miles done, but good for the soul, still.
Blimey, that is keen. Well done ! Not sure I will be out before mid March !
Haven’t ridden my bike since end of September
As long as I have a zillion layers on then I’m happy. A friend captured this photo of me as I was about to get on my bike.
I hope your wind turbines are working well Wim….
Realised that the tax had run out on the Street Triple at the end of November, so took the opportunity to renew it. I’ll mainly use the Transalp through winter but should enough sunny days, like today, to get the Triple out.
I will take pictures just to make you “store in a bag” boys jealous.
Best time to visit Staithes is in winter, way too crowded in summer, and you can sneak down to the harbour to park. (Public car park is at the top of the hill).
6 degrees but still happy in riding jeans (with base layer) and my summer boots
You’ll have to try harder than that, especially when wearing pink laces
Says the man with his bike in a bag…
The “try harder than that” was in reference to making me jealous
