Today I started out early in thick fog at -2c and spent up until the large hill near us clearing ice from my visor. Then…up and over the hill and I was met by beautiful clear blue skies, bright sunshine and far less chill. I then had a beautiful ride until I spotted the ominous smudge that was Crossgates up ahead…so into the fog I went for just a few miles until the service station where I got a brew to warm up and waited for @BrownMouse to arrive. He timed his arrival very impressively to the exact minute that we said we’d meet . We had a couple of drinks and a good natter and went our separate ways once the sun had won the battle with the fog.
This is a still from actual onboard footage of my approach:
I went on to Aberystwyth via Devils Bridge as I like the road and sat in lovely sunshine at the seaside. 180 great miles done on the Street Triple today .
You can’t beat fish and chips on the promenade in the sunshine in Aberystwyth. Although the last time I was there the pigeons were in attack mode though😊
I’ve seen a Brixham seagull mug some poor bloke for a whole fish straight out of the carton. Whitby seagulls are proper hard though, go round in gangs and love a fight
I have just had a little trip to Shobdon for some breakfast (porridge) and a ride round the local area today…thought I had better invest a few hours in cleaning the Striple after the past couple of days rather than ride all day again…
Had to take my Trophy for it’s MOT and then out for a ride after. When I set off winter gloves were ok, but by the time I got back my hands were sweating, the weather had changed to very warm.
Some random photos while getting the MOT done.
The R75/6 BMW caught my eye and the triumph trails wasn’t too bad either plus there was a different type of trophy to mine.
Yep had a couple of hours on the Tiger with my next door neighbour on his Suzuki . The weather was warm with a gentle breeze. We stopped at Ma Bakers for a brew on the way home. A lovely early ride.
Got to spend a little time working on the Trident 750.
Its moving towards a first start now.
Rebuilt the fuel cock and sender, so the tank should be good, serviced the carbs and refitted, then, constructed the airbox, which works with a snorkel out along the side panels to the rear at each side.
Bike arrived as a project with bits in boxes and bits missing. As it moves forward, you eventually arrive at missing bits and have to change tac to the next job, till the parts are available.
Doing this one backwards again, so the forks are rebuilt and brakes too. New chain, exhaust off cleaned and replaced also new brake and clutch lines.
Pleased with the forward motion after a few dormant months, even mocked it up.
I think I may try Plasti dip spray paint for the yellow bits ( had to get a replacement tank) and the plasti-dip cant stand fuel. A near match will do as this was supposed to be a winter hack ( and its March now ).Any imfo welcome.
