I like to do as much as I can MrsV. I means I have to settle for lower quality finishes, on the up side I get to do interesting stuff. Occasionally I think sod it Lets give this a Candy Apple metal flake 8 coats of laquear finish. That I will never be able to do, let me think about it. Thanks.
Absolutely, just wasn’t sure whether you were looking! If I had the skill, I would too!!

I’ve seen some people use vinyl wrap on petrol tanks, maybe there is a yellow out there that closely matches the rest of the bike. Plus you could also do the front mudguard? Just a thought, possibly dumb.
I’ve used it on a fridge freezer that was looking poor and it’s been pretty good for quite a few years. However that’s not anything like a motorcycle tank!
Plus it can be removed if you don’t like it!
Cheers, aye a thought about Wrapping it. Im running down leads and checking options. Lets get this Trident started. Running and riding wrapping.
Today I took the Tiger to the dealer’s. I was happily bimbling about the other day when suddenly my TFT screen lit up like a christmas tree. Every conceivable fault was shown, my radar refused service and my odometer stopped working. The engine light was shown in orange. Quick call to the dealer who said just bring it in, we’ll have a look at it. It took them 3,5 hours only to find out the abs fuse was badly corroded, which apparently caused the system to go haywire. All sorted now, but not very good for a bike less than a year old.
Anyway, whilst they were busy faultfinding I was given this brand new (100 miles on it) Tiger 900 rally pro to play with:
A very nice bike indeed. Light, nimble and quick, really smooth quickshifter on it. If for some reason in the future I’d have to downgrade this would be it!
Bad news on the fuse Wim. Did the fuse box show any signs of water ingress?
Apparently not, Steve. It was just the one, everything else was clean. Very odd…
Good job you weren’t halfway round Ireland!
My thoughts exactly!
Isn’t the real question, why was the fuse badly corroded?
It is indeed, and they had no answer to that…
Guy on the assembly line had sticky fingers (great album) just finished his jammy donut?
Went out for a couple of hours with a friend who was on his new-to-him bike.
Must admit that from when they first came out I thought that it was about the nicest looking ADV style bike I’d seen, I even like that unusual paint scheme. This bike came with an after-market black mudguard hugging the front wheel so you could ditch that ridiculous and ugly ‘beak’ that ADV bikes always have. (Not obvious from this pic.)
Weather is forecast to be even better tomorrow, 19°C (or 66°F if you’re @Oldskool ) so think I’ll head up to the Peak District for the day
I’ve always liked the look of the Guzzys. I actually quite like the “beak” on my Tiger, but each to his own, eh?
Had a one hour run out on the tiger. Very warm and pleasant ride.
To me, they just look like some bird (in this case a Great Crested Grebe) is about to eat a tyre…
I think Grebes are beautiful! I used to see them in the canal in front of my childhood home…
I can’t unsee that now…
