What You Been Doing With Your Triumph Today

Taking delivery of my refubished Speed Triple dash. When I filled up last week and wanted to reset the trip counter the buttons refused to cooperate. No way to reset trip, or switch to trip 2 or odometer. Annoying, but as the bike will be 20 years of age this May, some niggles are to be expected, I suppose. But, as I feel the trip counter is of importance so as to now my range, I sent it off to be repaired. This was done for the princely sum of €383, but hey ho, it should work again. Testing tomorrow…

I was out on my Trophy today and for the first time this year:
Summer Gloves
No puffer jacket liner
No need to clean the bike on return
Considering I was out on it a couple of days ago with all the above I’m chuffed!

First decent ride on the Speed Twin 900 in 2025 to AV8 (Cotswold Airport) for breakfast.

Some new things for aviation spotters and a lot of Chinese liveried aircraft ready for breaking.

Set off to the Peak District at 9, got back at home at 5. According to satnav that was 179 miles with 6 hours moving. Too knackered for a proper write-up, so just want to say it involved…

Over at Bolton-le-Sands at the moment, the first trip on the Bonneville. Rode over to my favourite pub in Garstang for lunch, Th’ Owd Tithe Barn on the canal basin. By chance met the new landlord as I pulled up, turns out he’s a biker and I now have a parking spot whenever I want.

Called in at Glasson Dock on the way back. Just a few bikes around, mainy Triumphs as it turned out - no dead body in the dock though (for those of you who watched The Bay TV series )

Yesterday I did about 210 miles in lovely warm sunshine on my Street Triple; I stopped at Welshpool Airport for coffee, did the Mach Loop and called in at Crossgates on my way home. Loads of bikes out and about. It was a very nice way to use the time before my night shift.

My approximate route is shown below…

Went on a nice ride with mrs. V. This ramp is used to put boats in the river. There were about 10 boat-trailers parked up.

Well, the weather has been getting better lately, so today I dug the Street Twin out of its winter garage hibernation, gave it a good clean, checked the tyre pressures and changed the engine oil and filter. So now all good to go as soon as I get a nice day free from other commitments. I can’t wait…

Me and three mates had a ride down into mid Wales. Stopped for lunch at Crossgates cafe before heading north via Knighton , Ludlow and then up the A49 to Shrewsbury, Whitchurch and then home to Winsford. 196 miles on the day in glorious sunshine, even though it was quite cool when we started out.

Absolutely fantastic weather for it today; it’s felt positively summery in Herefordshire. Work for me rather than riding, sadly!

Pity about work @MrsVisor it can get in the way of wanting to ride. But without it we wouldn’t have the money to enjoy our favourite pass time.
