What You Been Doing With Your Triumph Today

I was going to go out today in the day however ended up not doing so, so I went to the Silver Fox Cafe’s first bike night of the year tonight; they reminded me of it when I called in yesterday and it’s always a friendly place. So just 74 miles done on the Street Triple this evening - gorgeous weather again :slightly_smiling_face:.
There was a Triumph for sale too…

I took the Tiger out for a couple of hours. So great to be out!

Today I took the Street Triple and went the long way round to The Owl’s Nest to include Llangyndir Moor as it is a lovely ride and LLangyndir itself is a gorgeous little place. I then came back to Hereford via Builth Wells and Crossgates as the A483 from Llandovery to Builth Wells is a particularly nice road, both in terms of scenery and in having lots of twisty bits. I was going to go onwards towards Newtown as that part of it is outstanding, however needed to be home in time to jump on the Blade and drop it off for a service and MOT.
160 miles done.

Found the culprit

But also needed to get on with this 9 hole head (Pre units were 8 hole, T120s 9 hole and the mighty powerful hooligan T140s needed a 10 hole)

I’ve no idea why the photo now seems to have a date stamp. Why is everything so bloody complicated these days.
Imagine how great everything would be with the capabilities we have if everything was made to be repairable and not melt when it rains.

I normally travel across the Dales via the A684 to get over to Bolton-le-Sands but as the weather was decent, decided to get my kicks on the A66. Can get a bit breezy up there (it’s often closed in high winds) but you get views south to the Dales and North to the Pennines.

Dropped down through Kirkby Stephen and carried on the A685 to Kendal. This stretch of road crosses over and rises above the M6 at what is probably it’s most scenic point.

Just enjoyed riding around and thought about going on through Ulverston and down the coast road but fancied a cheeky pint sat in the sun. Turned around here and headed back to Newby Bridge.

Here we are outside the Swan Inn by the river Leven :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:
(It’s a very weak pint of Wainwright’s shandy)

What a wonderful part of the country you were in (bit biased)

Sat in the cafe at Hawes after a beautiful but very windy ride up from Ingleton.

Came back via Sedbergh which was a bit less windy and much warmer :slightly_smiling_face:

As I was coming back into Ulverston my mate was having a short spin out on his Versys so I turned around and went with him too, then brew at his house :slightly_smiling_face:
If this is what retirement will be like BRING IT ON!

Or you could come for a lovely ride in sunny Cornwall.
:joy:
( So central heating maintenance, 1/2 day job changing motorised valve turned into 2 days, cut out blocked pipe + new pump. Good job I’m not on plumbers rates!)
Bikes tomorrow perhaps if the sun makes an appearance. :slightly_smiling_face: :+1:

Edit: Oh, and fighting off a dose of man-flu and put my back out just for good measure.

First ride in ages…!
Took the RS out to get its MOT, which it passed and then had a little bimble around the Chiltern Hills just to prove to myself that I can still ride a bike..!
Ironically when I got to the MOT centre, the bike in front of me was an 04 MV Agusta 1000 just like mine…

Surprised you remembered which way to sit on it!

I had a slow bimble around the Cheshire lanes today on the Tiger. It is lovely just taking it slow and feasting on the sunshine and views away from the traffic.

I am working tonight, so today I took my Striple over the Gospel Pass, then for lunch (chicken wrap, very tasty!) at the Honey Cafe in Bronllys and called in via the newly reopened Dom’s Bike Stop for a drink on the way home. Only about 94 miles done, but the Gospel Pass is not a fast one…single track and very gravelly in places - and who would want to speed past the breathtaking scenery anyway?

Chucked in my last few hours leave as I was “working from home” and had next to nowt to do. Glorious sunshine was the deal breaker :slightly_smiling_face:
Few bits of chores before lunch then nipped up to Lakeside then back through Grange over Sands, pensioners central of Furness!

Washed it now just waiting for teatime

Picked up my rear wheel with it’s new tyre, changed rear brake pads and fluid, and fitted a new chain (sprockets got done two days ago). All back together now and waiting for a test ride tomorrow in 20°C sunshine
