Happy retirement @dawsy. From my experience life now starts getting more expensive, what with all those extra bike miles and trips away

Started off today with a 20 minute test ride to check out this week’s bike maintenance work. As expected, the new chain gained some extra slack so that got readjusted once back at home. Rear brake was virtually non-existent, will need more bedding in to the worn profile of the disc. (Even when working ‘well’ it’s about the same braking as I get from engine. )

As all was good with bike I headed off on a day’s ride thought country lanes in sunshine :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: No photos because I just wanted to enjoy the day without thinking of getting a good piccy. By the end, rear brake was improved and chain slack still in spec.

So now bike has new tyres, chain, sprockets, brake pads and fluid, all ready for next months Spain trip and whatever other adventures I get up to this year

Tip of the day…

When I went on a 4 day week SWMBO left me a list of jobs to do by the kettle before she went to w*rk. When she got home it was still there. “I left you a list” she said “I know, I saw it” was my reply. The jobs didn’t get done

She never left me one again.

Before I traded my 1st GS in for the 2nd she came home after playing golf to find me in the garage with the bike with all the stuff I’d bolted onto it lying neatly on the floor
“Why are all the bits off your bike” she asked
“Because I’m trading it in for another one” I replied
“You haven’t told me you were going to do that”
“I thought I just did”
She went in the house and made me a cup of tea
