I remember siphoning petrol out of the car for the lawnmower during the first lockdown ![]()
Wasn’t using the car anyway ![]()
I tried that with our personal car to fill in the pro car. Subaru have an anti-siphoning system. ![]()
Mines a citroen… had to use a very small hose right enough… took about 15 mins to get a litre ![]()
The sun came out for today’s lunchtime rideout with Mrs Mouse on pillion, so the autumn foliage on the trees was especially vibrant
In deference to my passenger I avoided the rough single-track roads, which was probably wise anyway now the leaves are starting to fall, and it was a thoroughly pleasant few hours. For lunch, we stopped for chips in Oakham and ate them sat on a bench in the park ![]()
Any excuse to get out on the bike while the sun’s shining and it’s not freezing.
I was out testing satnav apps this afternoon and it was really pleasant on the bike. Hopefully we’ll get a few more days like today before winter sets in.
I cleaned the Tiger today and checked it over prior to it’s up and coming MOT. All good as far as I can see, so hopefully it will sail through just like the Thruxton did.
Is it 3 years old in England for bike MOT? Seems like a short time since I remember you getting it… where does the time go ![]()
Yes, three years them you need an annual MoT. Interestignly, there’s evidence that an annual test doesn’t do much for safety.
It only took about ten minutes for the technician to MOT my Thruxton a couple of weeks ago. It took longer for him to print the paperwork. lol
Not sure if it was because the bike was clean and in great condition, perhaps an older bike might have taken a bit longer?
Yes it should be the driver being MOT’d for roadworthiness is some cases ![]()
Set off this morning, for Portree, Isle of Skye. Only two days this week that aren’t constant rain, mind I have to leave early tomorrow to avoid high winds and heavy rain. Going to follow me home I think.
Went in past Pluscarden Abbey on the way up.
Sunshine all the way to Garve then slowly deteriorated untill the rain was constant 3 out of 4 times I’ve been here it’s been raining. Not cold though.
200 miles today. Home tomorrow.
You need to go to the loch inn and have the steak pie

Took rear wheel to get new tyre fitted today, then replaced bearings, seals and spacers. (Bike has now done 45,000 miles.)
The right bearing seemed worn (had a bit more wobble than new bearings), and sprocket carrier bearing felt a little rough when I span assembly using finger as axle. Don’t know state of left bearing as it was the first bearing I pulled out, and spacer stopped things wobbling until I had. Chain also ended up with a little less slack, which could be another indication old bearings were worn.
I had a steak pie, from the petrol station, same pie?
It was so good, I took a photo
and I never take photos of my food ![]()
@Wessa @AndyPandy @Tigcraft possibly had some too ![]()
