110 miles to get lunch at Sutton on Sea…
Then back again
Can’t beat crunchy sandy chips.
I went into the garage and looked at my bikes. Been out for lunch so decided two wheels and booze don’t mix. Shut the garage door
Rode up to Hexham in Northumberland.
Might have stopped here once for fuel on the GMU Bellingham tour?
Old market town with an abbey, gatehouse and old gaol, which dates from 1330.
Came back via Weardale and Teesdale.
(Slight confession - wasn’t on the Triumph)
@BrownMouse looks like lovely weather for you today and @stevelovatt that looks like a lovely route. I am deeply jealous, just drove to work and back dreaming of resuming bike commutes!
Clingfilm is no good, it’s going to dissolve before your eyes…
It’s just about warm and dry enough to get on the bike today after the recent arctic descent. A quick run down to my local coffee shop to stretch the legs and get me out of the house for the first time in a week.
After working through some quick wins from my (provided by wife) list of Christmas chores, I will be doing a recce of holiday bike maintenance requirements.
So far list is:
Full wash and detail (the bike, not me).
Fit Pudding starter cables
Fit battery charging cable
Fit usb
Brake clean, check over and maintenance
Air filter check and clean (K&N)
Possible Christmas treat to new oil/filter and plugs - check plugs.
Possible swing arm/suspension linkage check and grease.
Make a God darn decision about my back box saga!
So, to recap, today I will mostly be thinking about my Triumph!
Just noticed this post, what beemer is it?
@stevelovatt hows winter at yours, you fully climatized these days?
Yes mate, to be honest, it’s been warmer up here than down in Winchester and up until today it’s been drier!
S1000XR + full luggage, essentially bought to get back in to Euro touring 2-up. 7 years now since last did it, due to a change to unsuitable bike (still have our Speed & Street Triples). Realised we’re really missing the Alps and I’m not getting any younger so it was a now or never moment.
Was gonna do some cleaning up but decided to take a photo and wish everyone a merry Christmas instead.
And to you sir!
Merry Christmas Iron.
Keep those posts coming, much enjoyed.
And to everyone and families on here
Nadolig Llawen as we say round here.
and
Nadelik Lowen! from Cornwall (not that anyone speaks it - we’re mostly incomers)
Alot of Welsh and Cornish is very similar and Brithonic spoken in Brittany. My Wife and kids are first language Welsh and I’m registered as a Welsh speaker (I have the certificate ) but the difference from one village to another and the speed some people speak can leave me baffled.
