Thats not snow, that’s a heavy frost ![]()
Forecast was for a sunny day and getting up to 5C in afternoon, so had planned on a days riding but the frost everywhere in the morning convinced me it would be wise to reign back my expectations. So I waited until noon and stuck to the major roads…
Of course, downside of riding this time of year is a coating of salty sludge…
So hosed off bike and dried it when I got back.
Washed the Tiger
Meanwhile the Speed Triple watched on forlornly from within the garage that it hasn’t left for the past 2 1/2 months ![]()
The weather forecast is looking dry and warmer next week, so it may get an outing ![]()
Another coat of FS365 for the Bonneville, only saw two other bikes out this morning, a KTM and a Ducati multistrada.
Nice weather and temperatures above 5C so went for a days riding out Lincolnshire way. When stopped for breaks I found the stiff breeze rather cold on exposed skin though as there isn’t much shelter that way…
Around lunch time I realised I wasn’t far from SportsBikeShop so popped in to get warm and buy some chain lube whilst I was there ![]()
Sounds like you had a good day out. I’m envious: my 3/4 mile access track is too muddy for me to get out just now. I have to say, though, that the look of the Lincolnshire landscape doesn’t tempt me so much…
Sod that I will wait for the better weather to arrive, I would get so upset seeing my bike like that.
I can’t resist sunshine and the open road.
I like Lincolnshire because it feels so big, also, the route there and back was a bit more interesting landscape wise. Would have gone Peak District but didn’t fancy the hill tops in the stiff wind yesterday.
I agree about the Peak District - lovely area. I lived near it for a couple of years and rode there quite often. ![]()
Dear oh dear
I still do and it still is. ![]()
Got out on the Speed Triple today. I had almost forgotten how awesome it is ![]()
Dry, some sunshine,11 degrees. It could almost be Spring.
I’m lucky. In easy distance for a day’s ride out, I’ve got Dumfries and Galloway (where I live), the Borders, Cumbria and Northumberland, so I’m not complaining.
Took my trophy out for another run but misjudged road conditions here, back lanes were slippy with salt/muck in the middle and dry lines where the car tyres go… Wasn’t as much fun as I hoped with that and a squared off rear tyre
I suppose I need to give it a clean now, but not as bad as @BrownMouse !
Yeah, it’s stunning up there. We have ties to Scotland and planning to get up there on the bikes this year.
I gave both bikes some fresh 10W40 and new filters. Then I had a wee run with both to make sure all was leak free. It was. First miles this year, great to be out.
Not QUITE warm enough (for my delicate bones) yet but getting close…!
8C here today - but sunny. Yes, it was a bit nippy, but good to be out all the same!
