What You Been Doing With Your Triumph Today

Yes it is and there is always a queue outside because people believe the hype!

I’ve not eaten in the restaurant but have had fish and chips from their takeaway and they are very good, but the Fisherman’s Wife restaurant is better in my opinion and with a better view!

Totally right!
That cafe is ok for fish and chips but the fisherman’s is better than that and, as you say, the view is way better.

Set off at 9am in thick fog, arrived home in the dark at 6pm, Peak Distict in between. Photos and writeup tomorrow, I need to drink medicinal beer now to sooth my aching body

I was out on the trophy again today. A couple of weeks ago I complained of the greasy roads and squared off rear tyre. I was a little despondent, thinking my days with the trophy were numbered. Yeah I can replace the rear tyre but… Then the previous ride the roads were dryer and the rear didn’t feel bad at all. While out last time I realised that I just wasn’t counter steering as I have done all my life. I put it down to riding my royal enfield meteor for 4000 odd miles last year and not using the trophy. The meteor is just so easy to ride. This time it all seemed to click just like before. Square tyre, pah.
I stopped of at a dealer to look at a 865 speedmaster in blue. 2013 with less than 6000 miles on. It did look nice, but the trophy was calling. Maybe another day.
We are hemmed in with major works here, with HS2 to our west and east west rail construction to the north. The whole place looks like a building site, the roads are in pieces and there is mud all over them. Countless works temporary traffic lights and closed roads and it’s been like that for a few years and we’re probably looking forward to another decade of it. It doesn’t make for a fun ride out, I must start heading south and east, trouble is that gets very busy. Maybe a move back to Scotland is calling…
Thanks for listening… :grinning:

I can definitely recommend it. Just need to keep an eye out for potholes and tractors, and the occasional deer (had to brake for one in the van last night). And keep clear of Edinburgh, which is all roadworks, closed roads with no diversions, and feral traffic wardens. The rest of the country is fine.

Postman arrived

Wasn’t impressed with Fowlers packing the gasket curved up in the bottom of the box that was too small for it. :frowning:

Fortunately gasket wasn’t broken and I now have clutch back together and everything seems to work OK. Had engine running but not taken it off stand and gone for a test ride, that’ll be another day…

Yes, ‘please do not bend’ that is bent by the packer. I don’t suppose it was cheap either.
But isn’t it nice to get some nice new bits on the bike and that good feeling that all is now well with the world. Good job that man :sunglasses:

Successful test ride today  There was rain forecast so headed out immediately after lunch for a quick 15 minute ride before the roads got wet, that turned into 1h15  All seems fine with bike so ready for day out next day there’s decent weather…

Day off work today, rain forecast from lunch time so headed out this morning for a few hours on my Street Triple; had a brilliant ride - I truly love everything about that bike .

Every home should have one :grinning:

No ride on the trophy today, but I had been watching a video about brake maintenance. In the past I have bled the brakes, cleaned the calipers, pistons and discs, but I never thought about the brake lever pivot pin! The video mentioned these so I pulled mine out today, erm, bone dry, oops. Now greased up and feeling smooth. I’ve never had a problem with feel on the brakes when well maintained so never thought of this… lesson learned.

First ride of the year! Only out about an hour but first time the weather has been ok and our local roads anywhere near decent enough to take bike out.

I missed out on a proper ride this past week due to fixing the clutch, so after lunch I decided to break my usual rule of not riding at weekends and went out for a ride. (Was also feeling in need of the therapy.)

I don’t know if it was the dry roads, a suspension tweak I did, or just my mood, but I was feeling more confident in corners than of late, so as well as some relaxed cruising to enjoying the scenery, I also had some good spells of swooshing around corners, steering with quick counter-leaning moves.

It’s so nice to see photos of people out and about in the sunshine; I hope that the ride therapy helped with whatever was troubling you.
