What You Been Doing With Your Triumph Today

Which year?

1976 if I remember

Yep, masses of grockles… :joy:

Guilty. I’m the one that caused a massive traffic jam years ago trying to climb the Kirkstone pass with an exhausted overheating VW van… on 1 st gear… :grinning:

I think Mitzi would cope ok… it might find the corners on Hardknott a bit tight though

My parents lived there just before I was born… I think you may have mentioned it before, but I’d forgotten (sorry)… were you there when the Chef from Glaxo got the pub? World beating mixed grills!!!

Yeah I was. Miserable git! Didn’t want them pesky locals in his pub drinking. Eat up and get out!

Picked up the mrs’ Striple from the shop. Standard gearing makes a big difference from what it was before. She’ll like it. Much easier to ride.
Apparently the rear sprocket supplied was a horrible shiny aluminium colour, which would not have been nice with all the black on the bike, so he painted it before fitting. Good man!

That looks smart :slightly_smiling_face:

Smarter than the rest of the bike at present LOL! But yep, very happy with that. It’s one of the reasons I like using a local shop - not the kind of thing the stealers would do without charging an arm and a leg.

Agreed it is good to support the local economy :slightly_smiling_face:

On the honeymoon a million years ago i borrowed a mates caravan and of we went to Exmoor, it was one of those old tiny round two berth caravans that looks like a mobile bread bin, all went well until going up Porlock hill, in first gear engine screaming and the caravan screaming too, as we reached the top the caravan started bouncing around and swinging side to side pulled over to find a wheel bearing had seized and we’d basically been dragging it up Porlock. Tyre rubbed flat and I also burned my hand on the wheel. Ah happy days

Sunny and fairly mild this morning, if a bit blustery!

Out and about on the Tiger.

It’s not very often you come across a beware of the tank sign when out and about.

Talking of tanks, I also stopped off at one of my usual places.

Nipped out for coffee on the Triple at lunchtime. It certainly is quite blustery. Looks like some rain coming in now, just for a change.

Thought about going out as it wasn’t meant to rain until early afternoon although it was very very windy and looked pretty grey. Went upstairs to get changed and heard rain absolutely hammering on the windows. Didn’t go out . I am considering putting the baffle back into my exhaust as it is really loud; I do love it but Helmut reckons it’s bordering on obnoxious and I don’t want to be “that” person - to be fair, it sounded so loud when I first removed it but then I obviously got used to it. I only really noticed again after I had ridden the Blade (still on an aftermarket exhaust with baffle removed so not whisper quiet) then the Street Triple and was surprised how much louder the Striple was .

Baffle replaced. I am civilised once again. Not before having to fish the screw out of the exhaust casing with a magnetic doo - dah first :grimacing:.

Yes, quiet please…
Packing the van with four bikes! Was a bit of a squeeze but got em in (two triumphs, a GasGas traily thing and a Kawamasaki cruiser - 'orrible purple thing with panniers) along with some spares stuff - all for the Autojumble tomorrow at Shepton Mallet.
Packed this’arbo as I didn’t want to disturb the neighbours at 6 in the morning with growly Triumphs with TT pipes.

I always stuff a rag down the baffle now when doing that… I didn’t used to, but after doing the exact same thing, it seemed like a good idea

Well I know now for next time . At least I retrieved it!!
