What You Been Doing With Your Triumph Today

So first ride of the season. A bit rusty after six months (me, not the bike), but boy, did it feel good!

@Ozzy do you know the paint colour/code that you on your tank? I tried Mr Google for Triumph colours but he didn’t know either.
Proper nice colour that, I may have to copy that on a build

Hi Iron, it’s a one off colour scheme not a Triumph colour, bought it new from the dealer in that colour and all I know is it is Maclaren orange.

Well I thought it was time to refit the side panels back onto the trophy. I had tried to repair the locating studs that had broken, one on each side. One side fitted perfect, the other was miles off… :weary:. No idea how I cocked that up, but out came the dremel and I had to remove the jb plastic weld I’d used. Repaired it again, this time measuring one hundred time from ever angle I could think, then I thought @Iron wouldn’t cock it up like me, how would he have done it…? Ah yes he uses cutout templates, so I cut one out to match the other side, lined it all up and I reckon I might be 0.5-1mm out. We’ll see how that looks when fully dried and fitted… maybe a 2nd go with the dremel :scream:
Perhaps all the time I spend on the web reading forums isn’t a complete waste of time.

I decided to go and visit a local castle ruin on the Tiger this morning. When I got there the car park was just a combination of wet grass and mud. I kind of knew that parking up here probably wasn’t going to be a great idea, but did it anyway.

As I got off the bike I could see the side stand slowly sinking into the ground and realised that I’d left my side stand puck at home! At this point I decided to abandon this idea and head off again only to discover that the combination of wet muddy grass and no grip underfoot meant that the bike really didn’t want to move and yes, I had parked nose in next to a hedge.

After much huffing and puffing I managed to get it at an angle I could ride it out from so spent the morning enjoying the local roads and sunshine instead :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you. I’ll find the paint code and see what the local dealer can get.

Or, buy a mclaren and cut it up into tank sections!? :grinning:

Just a reminder as the northern hemisphere turns toward the riding season again, pics and descriptions of rideouts can go in the Touring and Rideouts section. It helps people browsing the forum They don’t have to be big write-ups.

Also, it means they can be featured if they’re separate posts and have a pic. :slightly_smiling_face:

A post was split to a new topic: Esk Valley to Whitby

Just ordered a new MOTOBATT AGM battery for the Sprint ST 1050 to get rid of lazy starts.
Next time I head to UK, I’ll order the Squaredeal cable upgrade (for tiger 1050, but should fit on the Sprint ST Triumph Tiger 1050 & SE Starter Battery Cables Upgrade

Are you waiting until you are on these shores to avoid the Brexit fee, sorry, I mean completely fair and reasonable tariff?

I noticed that supplier has a page with forums and clubs listed…and we’re not on it! I’ve emailed them.

As it’s not urgent, I’ll have it delivered at my daughter’s home in Birmingham or at my UK office in Northumbria.
I’ll save the hassle of an international shipping, and eventually taxes.

What a day! Ireland is the best :ok_hand:t2:
I’ll maybe do a wee write up when I get home. It’s smaller than Scotland but there is less traffic and friendlier people. 2 best places in the British Isles for biking.
