Was, now it’s clean .
That’s not filthy, this if filthy…
We finally got a day without ice, fog or floods, so got in my first ride of the year today. It’s
also the first ride since I gave bike a service so gear changes felt smoother from the new oil and engine more responsive following ECU reset. (Which will last until it learns again how to lean out the fuel mix.)
I gave bike a hose down and dry when I got home, which feels futile considering it’ll end up like that again on the next ride, but I reckon there’s still salt around from all the freezing weather, and anyway, I couldn’t bear the though of leaving my precious like that.
Yesterday had 2 appointments. Below zero temperatures but dry roads.
The bike didn’t start at the first attempt, but finally went alive. Very pleasant rides, back home in the freezing night, but enjoyed it.
I think it’s maybe time for a valve clearance check. That should help the bad engine start.
I moved mine to put the Xmas tree in the garage loft…!
You lot who’ve gone out already …wow, well done. The roads around here are in a dreadful state. Potholes galore and super slimy and salty.
I used to ride year round but not any more…!
Roll on Spring…!
That’s what my street triple looks like - we have the same colour scheme
Hadn’t cleaned the tiger from my ride before Christmas. Put that right today, god it was filthy. All clean and blow dried now ready to go back in the garage. Thought I would leave it out in the sunshine for a while.
Can’t wait for some decent rain to wash the salt away for my next ride. Mind if the roads do dry I might venture out.
Love the paint colour. Whose crash bars are those?
Look like mine, Triumphs own.
Yes they are Triumph original parts.
Yes @tallpIaul I did sway between the red and the grey, but went for the grey which I’m very happy with the colour and the bike.
I still have a set of crash bar bags from my original Explorer 1200 in my garage. Wonder if they will fit newer bikes?
Day dawned with clear skies and a temperature of 5°C so decided to have lunch in a random field entrance two hours ride away
Of course that meant I had a two hour ride home.
Followed by an hour cleaning the bike
Looks lovely, I contemplated it however erred on the size of laziness and went back to bed for a few hours before work later . I am quite envious that the sun made an appearance for you…
After days of heavy flooding rains, it’s finally a bit dry. Went to my yesterday night association meeting on the bike, and as usual enjoyed the night backride all alone on the roads (and newly reelected).
They’ll let anyone in these days!!!
the truth is no one wants to take responsability! I’ve been pushed in the front because I didn’t knew what is was about.
Been over two weeks since my last ride but even so, the blue skies and dry roads didn’t tempt me out until after lunch when the temperature had reached the balmy heights of 4°C
When I got back I tried out the new gadget I bought for when on tour. (And everyday use now I’ve realised how much more convenient it is than a paddock stand.)
It’s only just short enough, and needs a favourable slope. I had hoped to unscrew the parts to shorten it with a hacksaw but the thread seems to have something to stop it from unscrewing, presumably as a safety feature. A bolt of the right size temporarily pushed into the rear axel hole would probably work to provide a lifting point higher up.
I took my Trophy out today to test my, new to me, gopro 8 to record my travels on my bikes. I had tried a different manufacturers camera but had problems with it and posted about that here .
So I treated the trophy to some premium petrol and headed out. The back lanes were very greasy so after the initial few miles I decided to avoid them. I thought I’d post some capture from the video stream to see what they are like on the web.
The gopro seems to be a bit high contrast and high saturation but because I’m lazy I think it’ll work reasonable for me.
Unfortunately, it decided to not turn off or respond to the power button at the end of the ride which I’d read is one of it’s faults which is why I tried to avoid them. Ho hum…
